2021 Northwest Prospect Showcase
Alexander Elton is a 2024 SS/RHP, C, 2B, OF, UT with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Kingston, WA who attends North Kitsap. Small-to-medium frame with width in the shoulders and an average build. 7.37 60-yd. Worked out at multiple positions as well as pitching in the games. Defensively worked at both infield and outfield positions. From the outfield and infield, showed off the athleticism to move through the baseball and range in the infield flashing actions to build upon for defensive skills. The glove was able to react to the ball and looked the part defensively. Overall arm strength will need to be a focus to see those defensive actions translate as he matures. Offensively, starts upright seeing the knee lift with the even hands and high back elbow. Quick load seeing the barrel drops as he starts the rotation having the barrel work around the baseball to the pull side. Round improved as it went along and there could be more as the frame grows and strengthens. From the mound, works with a simple sidestep and short turn before a belt-high leg lift and short stride down the mound. Short arm action gets to a higher 3/4 slot seeing limited extension out front. Fastball worked glove side and induced groundballs while the low-effort curveball blended between a spinning 12/6 and 11/5 shape. Strength and maturity will help the overall profile in time.
