LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2005 National Underclass Dec 28-30
David Synnott is a 2008 MIF/P from Bellevue West HS in Bellevue, NE, with a 5'11'', 173 lb. frame. He has a good build for his age and should gain strength easily in the future. Synnott has a different baseball background than most players at Perfect Game Showcases. He lived in Great Britain for many years and was the Captain of that Country's 15U National Team at one point. He moved to Nebraska at the beginning of his high school years, so he might be a little behind on his repetitions. Synnott ran the 60 in 7.92 and threw 77 mph during infield drills. He showed good range from side to side in infield and developing arm strength with a long arm stroke. Offensively, Synnott hits from a pre-load approach and little rhythm to the ball. He has a line drive swing plane and a contact oriented approach. He showed some hand strength and the ball came off his bat well for a young player. His power and bat speed will improve with some adjustments. Synnott also pitched and had a slow paced and balanced delivery to the plate and an extended arm action. He worked quickly and was around the strike zone with his pitches. Synnott's fastball topped out at 76 mph and he threw a 61 mph curveball. His long arm action could be well suited for a slider in the future. We didn't see a change up. Synnott is an excellent student off the field.
