Andrew Filimoehala is a 2024 RHP/OF with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Kaysville, UT who attends Davis. Taller & athletic build with long levers and plenty of room to keep filling out moving forward. Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher who took to the mound with some looseness to the operation. He worked from the wind-up with a higher three-quarters release. He pitches with some tempo and works with pace on the mound. The front side moved pretty well down the slope and allowed him to carry his momentum forward toward the target well. He was a clean mover from the stretch as well, with a good move down the slope. The fastball comes out clean and worked 83-86 mph with some arm-side life to the pitch. The heater spun up to 2,174 RPMs. He paired it with a curveball that worked in the mid-70s with a straight 12-6 depth to it. He showed the pitch as the outing went on and was able to land it for strikes or locate below the zone, looking for swings and misses. He also showed a changeup in the upper-70s, killing spin down into the 1,600s. Put together a good outing on the mound. Took BP as a right-handed hitter with a wider base and squared stance, using a leg lift trigger to get on time for contact. He had some glide to the ball with a pull-side approach showing during BP. He was rotational through it, looking to work uphill and lift the ball to left field. There was some barrel control and strength to the operation, creating some separation. Showed some leverage and lift traits as well. Produced an 82 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. He took one at-bat in-game and launched a ball to the pull-side, clearing the fence for a home run. Good student. Named to 2024 Rocky Mountain Showcase TP List.
