Ethan Gast is a 2022 2B/ with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Durant, IA who attends Durant. Recorded a 7.21 second sixty yard dash time. Primary second baseman with choppy footwork and good lateral range. Developing actions and feel for the position, short arm action with solid carry across, recorded throws at 78 mph. Good chance to improve moving forward. Right-handed hitter with a narrow and open stance and an even hand set. Utilizes a small leg lift trigger, has lots of moving parts in the swing. Tends to fly open at times, shows a direct hand path and produced ground ball contact towards the pull side. Looked his best when staying towards the middle of the field, will improve impact potential as he grows and gets stronger. Excellent student.
