PG Showcases garner national exposure, social media visibility, and the opportunity to improve your player rankings.
While the Perfect Game All-American Classic annually serves as a preview of the top high school players for the following summer's MLB Draft, it also has served as a preview for the next wave of stars at the college baseball level. That was exemplified by the emergence and subsequent postseason dominance of Vanderbilt righthander Kumar Rocker, who earned Most Outstanding Player honors at the 2019 College World Series for delivering a pair of impressive outings that helped the Commodores emerge as champions. Those appearances in Omaha followed his incredible 19-strikeout, no-hit performance in the Super Regional round, and it also helped seal his undoubted selection to Perfect Game's Freshman All-American team. Arizona's Austin Wells and Mississippi State's JT Ginn – who both played with Rocker at the 2017 PG All-American Classic – also received Freshman AA honors, with Ginn being named PG's Freshman of the Year. Two other previous PG All-American participants were named overall College All-Americans for their strong, season-long performances, Tanner Burns of Auburn and Garrett Mitchell of UCLA. Burns served as Auburn's ace as the Tigers advanced to the College World Series, with the help of some postseason heroics from Steven Williams, while UCLA was the No. 1 postseason seed with Mitchell serving as the offensive catalyst. Eighty one players are listed below. Thirty one of those players are true freshmen, pointing to the continued talent infusion for fans of the college game to follow over the next 3-4 years. Louisiana State and Ole Miss each have the most previous PG All-American participants with five each. Kentucky and Vanderbilt each have four. Players filtered by school. Year indicates the year each player participated in the Classic. Hylan Hall expected to play at a Florida junior college in 2020 but has yet to make that decision.
