PG Southeast Fall World Series Notes


Tanner Morneau (’25. Marietta, Ga.)- the 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitter continues to show his bat-to-ball skills at PG events where he finished the 18U PG Southeast Fall World Series with a perfect 6-for-6 showing at the dish. The University of North Georgia commit doubled twice and drove in three runs in two games for Prostock Baseball/ Axe Bat 18u. The Pope High School product and primary outfielder has put up ridiculous numbers this PG season with a .438 batting average and 1.044 on-base plus slugging percentage over 34 games and 89 at-bats.

Hudson Spencer (’25, Milton, Ga.)- the 6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitter led the 18U PG Southeast Fall World Series with seven runs batted in for the 643 Dp Cougars 18u. The uncommitted shortstop from Kings Ridge Christian High School finished with a .500 batting average and 1.271 on-base plus slugging percentage. He reached base safely in all four games of the tournament with a .571 on-base percentage including two doubles and two runs scored for the Co-Champion 643 Dp Cougars.



Evan Cope (’25, Knoxville, Tenn.)- the 6-foot-1, 160-pound right-handed pitcher tossed seven shutout innings for TN Nats 18U National in a 1-0 victory over East Cobb Astros Navy in the 18U PG Southeast Fall World Series. The uncommitted right-hander from Bearden High School, ran the fastball up to 88 mph and featured a hard breaking ball in the 74-77 mph range. The innings were crucial for the TN Nats as they walked off the Astros Navy in the bottom of the 8th inning. Cope finished with 11 strikeouts and only three hits allowed while commanding the zone at a 67% strike rate. Over 17 and 1/3 innings during the ’24 PG season, Cope has a 0.40 ERA and 22 strikeouts.

Patrick Freeman (’26, Lascassas, Tenn.)- the 6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed pitcher did not allow an earned run over two appearances for the Champion Blue Sox Premier of the 17U PG Southeast Fall World Series. The uncommitted right-hander allowed two hits over four innings pitched and finished with six strikeouts. Freeman closed out a 2-0 victory over East Cobb Astros 16U with three scoreless innings of relief. He ran the fastball up to 89 mph from his high slot working downhill and commanded the zone at a 60% strike rate. The innings were crucial to the victory over a lineup filled with highly touted prospects. Over his last 12 innings during PG events, Freeman carries a 0.58 ERA and 18 strikeouts.

Carson Zagryn (2025, Roswell, Ga.) had a great weekend at the plate with 7 hits with 4 extra-base hits, with one of those being a homer. He also reached base in 10 at-bats and sent 5 runs to the plate. The uncommitted prospect has an excellent frame at 6-foot-2 205-pounds, and is a decent runner while supplying a lot of power as well. Zagryn can also play almost anywhere on the field, making him a very valuable piece with his bat. Very athletic player with clean actions all over the field still searching for a home. 

Evan Cope (2025, Knoxville, Tenn.) had a spectacular week on the mound, going 7 innings pitched with 11 punchouts. He also walked none in a near-perfect weekend and only gave up 3 hits. He ran the fastball up to 88 mph and was able to command the ball very well. The uncommitted arm also showed some good swing-and-miss stuff as well as a lot of weak contact. He also mixed in a curveball in the mid 70s with hard bite and great depth that kept hitter guessing during his outing.

Tre Jackson (2025, Decatur, Ga.) had arguably the best stuff of the entire tournament and was very effective in his 3 innings of work. He struck out well over half of the hitters he faced and ran the fastball up to 93 mph. High octane arm still uncommitted, with this weekend mostly in the zone with only 2 walks. Jackson has tons of ability with the fastball and a tight slider, and he will be an arm to watch if it is in the zone. 


William Cutshall (2026, Seneca, S.C.) had an outstanding weekend both at the plate and on the mound. On the mound, he went 4 innings with the fastball up to 89 with some arm-side-run and sink to it. He also paired the fastball with a curveball in the low 70s with good depth. The delivery is very controlled into foot strike and he commands the ball pretty well. The Ole Miss commit also collected 8 hits at the plate with 4 extra-base hits with one of them being a homer. Cutshall is an intriguing 2-way prospect with a lot of skill and tools with both. 
 
Marshall Jackson (2026, Snellville, Ga.) had a near perfect outing on the mound going 5 innings with 11 strikeouts. The fastball was up to 86 mph with some arm side run and sink. He also commanded the ball very well with just one walk. He also utilized 2 off speeds with a slider and a curveball that played well off each other. The uncommitted prospect had a great showing competing and looked great this weekend in his 2 outings. 

Malachi Butler (2027, Powder Springs, Ga.) had a very productive weekend at the dish with 11 hits, and even flexed the power a little with a homer. Butler is a uncommitted left-handed hitter and has a great contact tool, and he also finds the barrel very often. He is also a smooth defender in the field and is reliable out there.
 
Nolan Brown (2027, Brentwood, Tenn.) had an outstanding weekend on the mound, going 8 innings with 1 run. He also struck out 12 showing off good swing-and-miss stuff. Brown was a bulldog on the mound this weekend, and the fastball was up to 80 mph. With his level of confidence and his command ability it should be interesting to see him develop and throw harder.
