Taylor Werth (‘25, CA) threw 4.2 scoreless innings and struck out six yesterday against Legacy where he exhibited some advanced pitchability. The 5-foot-11, 150-pound RHP is a smooth mover down the mound where it’s a loose operation allowing the arm to work free and easy to release. He uses a 3-pitch mix where he showed legit feel for his curveball and changeup. His fastball worked up to 86 early and settled 80-83. His curveball was his go-to secondary, showing bigger break and flashing an ability to spin it at a high spin rate (2500+). Was able to be effective working backwards using his secondary stuff early and running his fastball by hitters late. Werth should be a top uncommitted follow the rest of the spring.
