2023 High School All State Select Championship (2026-2027 Grads) (10/14/2023 - 10/15/2023)

Pool E Saturday Game Highlights
10/14/2023 12:00:00 AM

Jack Cowan (2026 LHP, Bowling Green, KY) has a great feel for his mix. It's a potent pair of pitches. Ran it up to 87 mph with some armside run, flashed a tight mid-70s slider with all kinds of bite. Good feel to pitch and impressed.

Matthew Manis (2026 LHP, Houston, TX) ran it up to 86 mph and the slider was a wipeout offering. Slurvy action and late tail makes for great quality. Can mix and match from the left side and checks all kinds of boxes.

Marcus Cantu (2026 SS, Friendswood, TX) came up with a booming double off the fence that nearly left the yard. The power showed in BP and now in game. Real good bat-to-ball skills from a left-handed bat and can really pick it on the dirt.

Jax Robinson (2026 C, Waxahachie, TX) impressive BP has shown in game with a loud barrel for a knock. Physical left-handed stick with real strength at impact. Good handle for it and the strength shows big.

Spencer Browning (2026 SS, Texarkana, TX) closed it out up to 89 from a super short and fast arm. Continues to impress as one of the better two-way talents in class. Overpowered the zone.

Kortland Stovall (2026 LHP, Mt Pleasant, TX) ran it up to 85 with feel for a good mix. His 1-7 breaker is a standout with tight shape and depth in the low-70s. Free and easy arm with a ton to work with long term.

Jackson Fetters (2027 RHP, China Spring, TX) pumped the zone, up to 84 with some armside life. Solid curve and changeup added to mix. Quick arm with plenty more in the tank. Picked his spots and knows how to pitch.

Michael Chin (2026 C, Houston, TX) had a solid BP and followed it up in game with a triple to the gap en route to a two-hit day. Quick hands, short path and impact strength behind it. Real good handle for the barrel today.

Jackson Ritz (2027 3B, Clifton, TX) hustled out a double and put together quality in-game swings. Did a good job of getting the barrel out front and driving it.

Caleb Driessen (2026 RHP, Hamilton, OH) potent mix in his start. Ran it up to 85 with some decent run from a short arm action. Healthy shape and depth to his high-60s breaking ball, landed it for strikes in any count. Flashed a mid-70s changeup in the mix too. Physical righty with more in the tank.

Desmond Francis (2026 SS, Indianapolis, IN) clanked one off the left field fence for a loud double. Put together quality in-game swings, working counts and showing well defensively on the dirt too.
