2023 13U/14U Lone Star Showcase (11/11/2023 - 11/12/2023)

Sunday Game Highlights >>

11/12/2023 5:45:40 PM

Deacon Carpenter (2028 3B, Sulphur Springs, TX) had another loud day not only with the bat but on the bump as well. He got his day started with a loud double in the left center field gap as he went the other way showcasing some power in the left handed swing. He followed that up with two scoreless innings striking out five hitters and running the fastball up 81 mph while complimenting it with a solid 12-6 breaking ball.

Bentley Woodard (2028 SS, Skiatook, OK)

got the scoring started on Sunday with an RBI single to the pull side. He did a nice job of pulling the hands in to get the barrel out front and tucked the ball inside the right field line over the first baseman to drive in the game's first run.

Nate Nalley (2028 C, Benton, AR) showed some nice upside on the mound running his fastball up to 75 mph while living 72-74 mph. He does a nice job using his length to get down the mound with good extension while maintaining his line to the plate. He also mixed in a slurvy breaking ball as his primary off speed.

Owen Stone (2029 OF, Justin, TX) put together a solid day on both sides of the ball. He got his day going with two scoreless innings on the mound recording two strikeouts while allowing no hits. He then followed that up with a sharp single to the pull side and came around to score the game's second run.

Nolan Boone (2028 SS, Dallas, TX) put one of the more impressive swings of the day on a long drive to left field. He showed some flashes of bat speed with projectable strength in the hands as he hammered a middle-in fastball down the line to the pull side to drive in a run with a double. He flashed some leather later in the game with a diving catch in center field to cap off a solid day on both sides.

Grant Hindsley (2027 OF, Robinson, TX) got into a ball in his second at bat showcasing some power to the opposite field as he split the drove a ball that found its way to the wall in right field for a double. His ability to keep his hands inside the baseball allows him to still have the power he showed while going the other way.

Josiah Nalley (2029 RHP, Benton, AR) got the barrel on the ball multiple times doing a nice job using the entire field. He hit a ball to the middle of the field in his first at bat and then followed that up with a double to the back side as he shot a ball down the left field line.

2023 13/14u Lone Star Showcase Batting Practice Highlights >>

11/11/2023 5:46:37 PM

Brennan Hayes (2028, Newark, TX) has loosens in the path with good intent. Worked it well to the pull side and can clear a bit. Good consistent feel for the bat in his round.

Roman Jauregui (2027, Fort Worth, TX) loud round with strength and bat speed to the pull side gap. Can separate and heaviness to the hands really shows.

Juan Herrera (2028, Dallas, TX) big round with a consistent barrel to all fields. Really good timing and works the barrel well. Gets extended and can impact it with wiry strength.

Deacon Carpenter (2028, Sulphur Springs, TX) huge round with bat speed and strength from left side. Loose, rhythmic and hands fire. Can turn to the pull and huge traits here.

Owen Stone (2029, Justin, TX) big strength potential gets extended with some heavy hands. Can clear his backside and impact it to the opposite field gap for his age.

Joshua Wofford (2027, Kaufmann, TX) loose lefty stroke with some impact to the pull side. Throws the hands out front, and he fires with intent. More in the frame and there’s some tension free stuff to like.

Grant Hindsley (2027, Robinson, TX) loudest strength of the group, going off the wall to both gaps. Separates and packed with intent. Big bat speed and carry to the path. Huge traits and power potential.

Rayne Rojas (2028, Keller, TX) fires the hands out front from the left side. Good intent and quickness worked all fields and there is some sneaky strength at impact already.

Green V. Maroon Game Highlights >>

11/11/2023 12:00:00 AM

Deacon Carpenter (2028 3B, Sulphur Springs, TX) big time barrel skills for a 2028 grad. Burned the left fielder for an Inside The Park Homer. Loose lefty stroke with great extension and overall feel. Stays inside the baseball well and has big traits to build upon.

Grant Hindsley (2027 OF, Robinson, TX) simply a loud showing. Barreled one off the wall in left-center and hopped on the bump up to 79 with a 3-pitch mix and solid breaking ball. Loud BP showing in game, big time impact out front and the strength has been a huge standout all day.

Joshua Wofford (2027 OF, Kaufman, TX) solid two-way showing, ran it up to 80 mph with good armside run. Had a three-hit day ad a couple for extra bags. Quick arm on the hill and feel for the stick, kid is a gamer.

Juan Herrera (2028 C, Dallas, TX) heavy mid-70s fastball from a full arm swing, features plenty of sink and missed bats at will. Short slider mixed in and there's some real whip in the arm for age.

Owen Stone (2029 OF, Justin, TX) good piece of hitting for age with several quality at-bats. Stays inside the ball well and gets extended. Good timing and has solid components to his swing path.

Nolan Boone (2028 SS, Dallas, TX) good two-way showing solid piece of hitting at the plate and shut things down in relief over two frames. Good fastball/curveball combo and mixes tempos well.
