Tristen Hong is a 2024 2B/SS, OF with a 5-6 158 lb. frame from Granby, CT who attends Northwest Catholic. Compact frame with strong legs. In the infield, he shows high energy with bounce to the lateral actions. Very agile and puts himself frequently in good fileding position. Made all the plays look smooth with glove. Solid arm speed with throws coming out of the hand well. Solid carry across the diamond. Can vary the slot and still deliver accurately. Right-handed hitter, wide base and open stance. The swing is smooth and well connected. Compact bat path with tight turns of the lower half. Quick hands gets to extended impact frequently. Lived on the barrel throughout and pounded a bunch of line drives back through the middle. On the mound, its a stretch only operation with compact kick and short take back. Three-quarters release. Little buggy whip arm side run to the fastball, attacking the zone with the heat early. Two distinct breaking balls. Slider is long sweeper, executed frequently. Curveball has 11-5 shape and is tight for the age. Really good outing. Lots of rhtyhm on the mound with an idea of how to sequence. 5.11 40-yard. Named to the Top Prospect list.
