Carlos Ovalles is a 2026 SS/2B/3B with a 6-1 168 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Saint Thomas. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength to frame, additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.43 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front cleanly and shows softness in glove skills, moves around on feet well to either side, gets inconsistent with release point but shows some present carry on throws across the diamond. Also pitched, simple delivery with a short arm action through the backside working to a lower three-quarters release point. Pitched to contact with short sinking life on fastball, topped out at 68 mph with an easy release; curveball showed slurve finish through the zone and flashed a changeup with short diving life to the arm side up to 63 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with a slightly open stance; longer swing path through the zone, handsy stroke and looks to get the barrel out front. Upper body dominant swing, can continue to implement additional lower half weight shift moving into contact, best when working on a linear plane.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
