Gavin McPherson is a 2026 SS/OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Lubbock-Cooper Liberty. Slender athletic build. 6.65 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, prep step, average arm strength across, enough to stick on the left side of the infield, plenty of feet, coordinated, some effort to release, solid round with good actions and made all the plays. Secondary outfielder, one hop accuracy, three-quarters slot, accurate, solid low 80's arm strength. Left-handed hitter, open base, even, high hands, high back elbow, developing bat speed, more strength to come, contact stroke, on the barrel, not much lift. Good student. Named to the PG South Central HS All-State Games Top Prospect List.
