2024 Coastal Uncommitted Prospect Showcase
Mike Bruckner is a 2026 SS/RHP with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Bethel Park, PA who attends Bethel Park. Tall and athletic build with good present strength and lots of physical projection remaining. Two-way prospect. Primary shortstop on defense, projects at third base at the next level, arm strength is his best defensive tool, made accurate throws with carry, step by step actions to the ball, fields it cleanly. Right handed hitter, starts from a narrow stance with a turned in front side and a long stride into contact, longer swing with some bat speed and ability to drive the ball from gap to gap when he's on time. Works from a high leg raise delivery with a compact arm action and a low 3/4's release slot on the mound, repeats his mechanics and release well. Pounded the zone with a mid 80's fastball that had some carry through the zone. Slider was his best pitch with big sweeping depth and sharp breaking action. Change up was a solid third pitch with lots of fading life. Good bet to keep improving on the mound. Very good student. Named to the Coastal Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List.
