2023 Deep South Prospect Showcase
Hayden Pearson is a 2025 LHP/1B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Lafayette, LA who attends Ascension Episcopal School. Pearson ran a 7.61 Sixty yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher showed a medium athletic build with some present strength already throughout and room for additional strength going forward. Very low effort in the operation he starts with a hip height leg lift creating some extension to the plate at release. Longer loose arm action coming from a high 3/4s slot Hayden generated some late ASR on the fastball playing it well to the outer half. He mixed in a CH with late fade that tunneled the fastball as well as a tight SL with two plane movement and some late depth. At first base he waits back on the ball fielding it cleanly out in front with quick glove to hand exchanges. He showed accurate throws across the infield with some cary. Left handed hitter starts with a medium even set athletic base with a leg lift trigger. The swing is very direct to the ball with a linear path throughout the zone. He made consistent contact to the pull side throughout. Hayden is a great student. He was named to the 2023 Deep South Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
