JB Young is a 2027 C/2B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Hickory, NC who attends Hickory. Recorded a 4.15 second thirty yard dash time. Smaller build. Primary catcher works from a one-knee down stance and keeps it simple with a quick exchange and release with accurate one-hop throws. Secondary middle infielder that was a solid mover with feel for the glove and made all the plays. Right-handed hitter starts from a medium base with a slightly closed start and a good clean handset, utilizes a hanging leg lift. Some loft and bat speed with lots of middle-of-the-field line drives. Got on plane consistently with a simple swing. Repeated well and showed good barrel skills. Exciting player with a high ceiling as the frame adds more strength. Excellent student. Named to the PG Coastal Indoor Top Prospect List.
