2023 WWBA Underclass Workout Showcase (Sept 27)
Jackson Boyer is a 2025 OF/3B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Medina, OH who attends St Ignatius. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 6.96 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes shorter steps on the approach to the ball, utilizes a big crow hop moving into release, works to a three-quarters release and ball comes out well, gets it out of glove quickly, fields the ball out front, will continue to refine overall actions. Longer arm action on throws across the infield, 81 mph top throw from a lower slot, actions play at corner and throws have the carry too. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Does a nice job of staying direct to the ball with hands from launch, gets extended through contact with the barrel out front. Incorporates physical strength well and shows impact to the pull side with natural loft. Uncoils on time, consistent barrel in this look and generates solid bats peed through the zone. Excellent student.
