Derek Berger is a 2026 MIF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Irwin, PA who attends Norwin. Lean, compact frame with present athleticism and projection remaining. Primary second baseman, attacks the baseball with urgency and works through it well. Demonstrated smooth glove actions with some twitch to his movements. Separated into a shorter arm path, releasing the ball with tons of quickness and life. Displayed developing adjustability while delivering accurate throws across the diamond. Recorded arm strength up to 83 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts in an even base with a compact hand set-up. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing before working into a flatter bat path. Remains balanced and finishes upright at times. Showcased intriguing hand speed with consistent barrel skills. Produced multiple line drives to the middle of the field during his batting practice round. Posted an exit velocity of 80 mph. Ran a 3.83 thirty-yard dash. Great student. Named to the 2024 New York Indoor Showcase (Saturday) Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
