Caylen Clardy is a 2011 MIF with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Beaverton, OR who attends Aloha. Clardy has a very athletic and lean build, he is strong with sloped shoulders. Good defensive middle infielder, smooth actions, glides to the ball and does so with minimal effort. Moves well laterally with a good first step and anticipates well off the bat, clean transfer and release, good hands. Switch hitter with a developing stroke from the left side, rotational with a good path and shows batspeed from a slightly open stance. From the right side he uses a shorter swing and his hands work to the ball, again showing good batspeed and balance. He put the ball in play hard during game play and looks to turn on the inner half. Good follow.
