Matt Reitano is a 2015 C/MIF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Mira Mesa. Medium frame, strong lean build. Good defensive catcher, quick arm with good carry on throws, rushes lower half causing arm side run on his throws at times but can be ironed out to cut down on impressive pop time even further, good defensive tools both in workout and in games. Strong arm in the infield as well, good carry and circles the ball well, hands work well and actions are coordinated. Good bat speed at the plate, creates leverage with good lower half utilization, linear hitting approach and sound swing with a smooth stroke and efficient mechanics, aggressive in-game approach. Excellent student. Named to the Sunshine West Top Prospect Team.
