Jake Nelson is a 2015 RHP/C with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Hopkinton, NH who attends Hopkinton. Large, athletic build with long limbs, broad shoulders and a strong, physical build. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from an over the top arm slot with a full arm action through the back side. Easy arm with the ball coming out of his hand easily, shows fluidity in arm stroke and gets on top of the ball well, allowing him to generate strong downhill plane. Front side opens early at times, worked mostly to arm side but showed ability to get to glove side when needed, gets over front side well in follow through. Fastball topped out at 92 mph with slight run to arm side and was able to work both sides with some heavy life. Curveball showed sharp 11-5 shape with tight spin and showed a feel for a changeup at 79 mph. Continues to make nice strides on the mound. Verbal commitment to Pennsylvania. Named to Northeast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
