Bryan Mendez is a 2015 RHP/1B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Carolina, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Tall, strongly built right-handed pitcher, and knows how to use his lower half. Pitches from a three-quarter arm slot and shows off good arm speed. Has arm side run on his 80-83 mph fastball. Mixes a 63 mph slider that needs tightening. Also mixes in a changeup. Has a good delivery that he repeats well. Also swung the bat, showed good power from the right side of the plate. Gets long at times but has natural lift in his swing and generates loud contact. Hands are loose and fluid to the baseball. Flashes good bat speed and uses an aggressive approach. Very good student.
