Yatharth Kaushik is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-8 230 lb. frame from Scotch Plains, NJ who attends St. Joseph. Extra big and strong build, especially his hips and lower half, long arms and legs. High 3/4's arm slot creates big downhill angle, high leg lift delivery with good balance over the rubber, good pace to his delivery. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with good sinking life down in the zone, velocity and angle create lots of swing and miss. Still developing consistency on his breaking ball, has a good release to develop a true slider and flashed some quality and late bite to this pitch. Has some upside on the mound. Primary first baseman on defense. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a lifting swing path, pretty consistent swing mechanics for his size, flashed plenty of pull side power. Good student. Named to the Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
