Mike Vasil is a 2018 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Wellesley, MA who attends Boston College High School. Exceptionally impressive frame, strong, athletic build and frame, present strength with additional room to continue to develop. Posted a 7.53 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher, side step start, leg raise past waist, limited effort, long arm action, and threw from a high three quarter arm slot. Very under control delivery, good arm speed, and lands on a stiff front leg. Fastball exploded out of hand and attacked hitters at 87-91 mph with good arm side life. Mixed in a tight curveball with 10/4 shape with late break and sharpness at 74 mph. Showed feel for a changeup as well at 77 mph with sink. Secondary first basemen, showed similar big time arm strength, fielded the ball clean, sound footwork, and overall athletic actions. At the plate, started open and used a quick toe tap timing mechanism. Showed tremendous bat speed with big raw strength, and carry off the barrel. Hips get through the zone well, very quick hands through the zone with big impact to pull side. Verbally committed to the University of Virginia. Named to Top Prospect List.
