Evan Lewis is a 2020 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Severna Park, MD who attends Severna Park High School. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength to frame; additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 5.31 40-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins on first base side of rubber, simple side step into a high leg lift raise above belt; full arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Gets tall on backside, varies tempo on delivery with intent, fastball topped out at 85 mph, showed running life to arm side at times when on top. Sharp curveball with 11-5 shape and nice downward actions, can continue to maintain arm speed on release. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright and open stance with a high handset and back elbow at the plate. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing, quiet hands with a full path through the zone. Occasionally gets to front side early but shows nice bat speed, worked the gaps with barrel skills. Nice jump off the barrel when squared, best contact to the middle of the field. Very good student.
