Renzo Gonzalez is a 2021 OF/LHP with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Doral Academy Charter. Mature athletic build with very good present strength. Did not run the sixty, has consistently run in the 6.9's at past PG events. Has very good fundamentals in the outfield, works through the ball with good footwork and a smooth and easy glove out front, compact arm action with a quick transfer and release, stays balanced and directional, plenty of arm strength with occasional tail on his throws. Left handed hitter, hits under control from a wide stance, smooth well timed hands, creates lots of barrel whip with plenty of bat speed at contact. Also pitched and is a solid two-way prospect. High 3/4's arm slot from a repeatable delivery. Steady upper 80's fastball with hard boring action to get under barrels, slider was a present out pitch with tight spin and sharp powerful sweeping break, threw both pitches for strikes to locations and had an abusive inning of work. Good student, signed with Miami. Named to the World Showcase Top Prospect List.
