2024 Sophomore National Showcase (2027 Grads)
Mac Morris is a 2027 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B, IF, OF, UT with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Taylors, SC who attends Baylor. Medium, athletic frame with present strength and more to project on. Good runner, ran a 6.85 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, athleticism shines with range to either side, clean two hand funnel out front and mid body exchanges with easy arm strength and carry across, recorded accurate throws up to 90 mph. Gets it out quick with gamelike actions. Right-handed hitter, medium feet with slightly open front side, hanging leg lift trigger, lags the barrel well with a loose path. Athleticism translates here and control the barrel well with low effort impact and strength to the middle of the field. Secondary right-handed pitcher, stretch only, low leg lift, works downhill nicely and throws from a higher three-quarters slot. Fastball sat in the 82-85 range, got up to 86 mph (2273 RPM) and showed a slider with high spins up to 75 mph (2625 RPM). Also worked out in the outfield and showed real bounce with the same arm strength we saw in the infield and on the mound. Can play multiple defensive spots and plays with high energy. Good student. Verbal commitment to South Carolina.
