2021 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase
Rhys Bowie is a 2024 LHP/OF with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Haworth, NJ who attends Dwight-Englewood. Smaller young build with lots of room to get stronger. Works from a full wind up with a medium length takeaway in back and a whippy 3/4's arm action, has good rhythm to his delivery and repeats his release well. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, works his fastball to both sides of the plate and has an idea how to spot the pitch. Shows the same feel and command of a tight breaking ball he uses as his strikeout pitch, mature pitcher with the ability mix his pitches to spots. Right handed hitter, hits from a hanging leg lift load with some young hand quickness to start his swing, tends to fly open early with his front side, aggressive hitter. 7.02 runner in the sixty. Plays both outfield and first base when not on the mound, shows good athleticism and quick/balanced actions at both positions, makes accurate throws. Good bet to keep improving in all areas as he gets more physically mature and already has solid skills. Good student. Good student. Named to the Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
