Tyler Cook is a 2024 C/RHP/3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Glenwood Landing, NY who attends Holy Trinity. Compact, athletic looking frame with some lean muscle throughout and plenty of room to fill out. Recorded a 7.05 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that received from a one-knee setup during drills with soft hands, a quick release and direct mid-line transfer. Gains ground with quickness to his feet out of the crouch, stay in-line and direct with his movements to throw and recorded arm strength up to 73 mph from behind the plate during drills. Actions translated well into game action, as the he threw out several runners. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a coiled leg lift into balance and good usage of his lower half down the slope. Stays compact down the mound and worked into a loose three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 80s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 85 mph in this look. Mixed in short 11-5 shaped curveball with vertical depth and late bite to its shape. Strike thrower with more velocity in the tank as he continues to physically mature. Took part in the infield portion of the defensive workout as well, where he showed athleticism and some fluidity to his actions. Works downhill through the baseball and displayed good lateral range. Recorded accurate throws up to 86 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, open base with a high hand set, high back elbow and small stride into contact. Compact, line drive stroke with good feel for the barrel, quickness to his hands and the ability to impact the baseball out in-front. Gap-to-gap approach with consistent line drives and budding power potential. Athletic, fundamentally sound prospect with two-way upside and offensive prowess, will continue to improve with minor refinements and additional strength. Good Student. Named to the 2022 Fall Northeast Top Prospect List.
