Matt Ponatoski is a 2026 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from Hamilton, OH. Medium, square shouldered frame with some present strength and will continue to develop physically moving forward. Ran an 8.38 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows athleticism in actions, fields the ball out front, short stride through the ball with some quickness to overall actions, works on top of throws and shows carry across with the ability to drop slot, repeats actions nicely. Also pitched, side step into a belt high leg lift, works down the mound well, some whip to arm action with an over-the-top slot. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, works to glove side well with short sink, simple mechanics and filled the zone, mixed a slider up to 63 mph. Left-handed hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing. Stays short to the ball, creates bat speed through the zone and shifts into contact well with lower half. Executes approach at the plate, steady line drive contact off of the barrel when squared, comfort working to pull side and gets the barrel out front well. Named to 13u Main Event Top Prospect List.
