Caleb Gafford is a 2027 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Pinehurst, TX who attends Tomball. Primary SS with a lean and athletic frame. Fields it cleanly and works around the ball well with soft hands. Showed pretty fluid actions and has a good idea out there. Gets the ball out quick with a quick transfer and release from a clean slot. Was able to change slots well and was up to 76 from the infield. Also ran a 7.50 sixty. Also pitched throwing from a legitimate submarine slot starting on the first base side of the rubber. Uses an abbreviated leg lift as he works down the slope and hides the ball well causing good deception. Stays through the pitch well with a clean finish and should continue to get better especially from that slot. Hitters were overmatched as his fastball showed great life to it with good sinking action. Showed big time feel with his slider as well with good sweeping action. Should continue to throw from the submarine slot as it is truly unique and will continue to cause problems for hitters. Right-handed hitter with an even and balanced base. Uses a inward knee lift trigger for timing and rhythm. Controls the barrel well with a level swing path and has a good idea in the box. Profiles well as a gap-to-gap hitter.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
