2024 PG Underclass All-American Games
Jaxson Wood is a 2026 SS/MIF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Hoover, AL who attends Hoover. Compact, athletic build with room to continue adding strength. Right-handed hitter, medium base with a high back elbow in the stance, short stride out into contact with obvious twitch in the hands and controls the barrel well. Level barrel path through the zone and works right back up the middle in the approach, showed some pull-side power as well. Primary shortstop, quick footwork working to grounders, good glove presentation and works through with fluidity, gets the ball out quickly with arm strength and ability to throw from multiple slots, recorded throws up to 87 mph. Fundamental actions with a bounce to the movements and plays with tons of energy. Great student. Verbal commitment to Tennessee. Named to 2024 PG Underclass All-American Games Top Prospect List.
