Matthew Midyett is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Plant. Very athletic and proportional frame, more room to add muscle and size. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, strong lower half, charges in hard, good angles, one hand gather to side, works through it nicely, carries momentum, high slot, arm strength shows with accuracy to the bag, throws up to 88-mph in this round, quality actions and athletic overall. Secondary right-handed pitcher, stretch only, hands start at the belt and work up through the chest to break, leg lift above the belt, later move back to chest with hands before break, higher effort arm, spinning vertical curveball, struggles to get over front side, some life on the fastball to the inner half against right-handed hitters. Right-handed hitter, medium base, even feet, high back elbow, steeper path, big strength in the hands, elevating at contact and lifting it in the air with authority, can overstride at times. Quality at bats in game, well built athlete that tested well metrically and hit in game last summer. Named to the 2024 Sunshine East Top Prospect List.
