Connor Canny is a 2021 OF/SS with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Johnston, IA who attends Johnston. Showed good speed and athleticism, running a 6.96 second sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with a medium frame and build. Has slow and deliberate footwork in approach to the ball, carrying momentum through the fielding process and making strong throws with accurate carry at 84 miles per hour. Right-handed hitter with a tall and slightly open stance, high back elbow and hanging leg lift trigger. Has a rotational lower half with a line drive barrel plane, showcasing some power potential and swinging with intent to drive the baseball. Executes a middle of the field to pull-side approach with developing barrel control in the zone. Also pitched, showcasing a full delivery with a big leg swing and energy through release. Fastball generates some cutting action up to 82 miles per hour, and showcases a trio of secondary offerings as well. Has a big curveball in the upper-60s to go along with a mid-70s slider. Also shows feel for a low-70s change-up and can put away hitters with that pitch.
