2025 PG Lone Star Showcase
Brayden McDaniel is a 2026 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Cy-Fair. Lean and athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. 7.20 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has good lower half athleticism and showed lateral range, max effort thrower but made accurate throws with lots of carry, had solid actions to the back hand. Also worked out in the outfield and graded out the same with very similar tools and actions, could end up as a super utility type at some point. Switch-hitter at the plate, sets up slightly open from the left side, simple stride to close, smooth swing with good rotation, gets into his lower half well, some uphill path to his swing, has some bat speed. Bit more level from the right side with a high contact approach, mostly pull side contact, has bat speed from both sides. Took a turn on the mound, has a well paced delivery with good direction to the plate, mid 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 83 mph with late life and was thrown for strikes. Threw a hard slurve like curveball with tight spin and bite as his secondary pitch, located it well and over matched some hitters with the pitch. Good student. Named to the PG Lone Star Showcase Top Prospect List.
