2021 Northwest Prospect Showcase
Will Cahill is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends Seattle Prep. Long, athletic frame showing room to continue to fill and mature into. 7.57 60-yd. Showed upside as one of the top two-way players at the event. From right field, Cahill worked behind and through the baseball with a nice attacking pace during the strong round allowing the compact, high release arm to make strong, accurate throws to the bags. Arm strength translated over to the mound well with the delivery seeing him keep the hands at the chest through the simple sink and delivery drive. Utilizes the frame well having a slightly closed landing and letting the body work over the strong front side. Transferred energy well from leg-to-leg and that allowed the fluid elbow swing to show budding arm speed. When he worked down the mound rather than towards third base, the stuff ticked up and flashed more. The fastball could work the bottom of the zone but will need to have better misses with it. The 11/5 curveball was short blending into a sluve with a well-spun shape and later vertical depth. Showed he could throw it for a strike and then extend the bottom of the zone showing space to tighten with more velocity. Offensively the left-handed hitter starts open with low hands showing easy pullside lift with batspeed. Stuck to the pullside flashing some power that way when he got into the lower half. Impressive weekend and future. Named to the Northwest Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
