Jose Velez is a 2022 LHP/ with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Kissimmee, FL who attends . Extra large frame with long limbs and a lanky build. Primary lefthanded pitcher who only pitched during the event. Side step into a leg lift above the belt. High three-quarters arm slot with a long arm action and a lot of angle generated. Works the fastball to both sides of the plate with intent. Low effort at release with nice running life on the fastball at times. Advanced command and the fastball topped out at 88 mph but lived mostly in the low-to-mid-80s. Changeup has good fade and curveball shows good shape. Three pitch mix with command and will improve as he adds strength. Good student. Named to the 2021 NUC East TP List.
