2023 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Eric EJ Booth Jr. is a 2026 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-0 187 lb. frame from Bassfield, MS who attends Oak Grove. Big and strong athletic build, long arms and legs, still has some physical projection remaining, stands out physically. Outstanding runner, 6.39 in the sixty, has impact speed on the bases. Left handed hitter, hits from a high back elbow load and a spread lower half, moves into his launch well, plenty of bat speed and barrel whip, hits to all fields and has some barrel adjustability, best when he's hitting through the ball aggressively. Primary outfielder on defense, takes good routes through the ball and maintains his momentum through his throws, over the top arm slot, makes accurate one hop throws, speed will be an asset with his range. Also pitched, throws from a high 3/4's arm slot with a simple and repeatable delivery. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with very good running life that got off barrels well. Threw both a slider and a curveball and threw strikes with all three pitches. Impressive overall athlete. Good student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
