17u WWBA West Game Recaps

The Dallas Tigers Cecil 17U team defeated the Arizona Future Stars 14-1 during day one of the 2024 17U WWBA West National Championship. The Tigers scored all their runs in the first five innings on 10 hits. The Stars only scored one in the fourth on three hits. Controlling the pitching the whole game was Brayden Montes after pitching all five innings allowing three hits, one run, and struck out five. As far as offense goes there were three hitters who led the way today. Miami commit Jailen Watkins took charge going 3-3 with one double, one triple, and two runs scored. Jacob Mathewson was behind him as he went 2-2 with one double and four runs scored. To wrap it up, Jake Rodriguez went 1-3 with two runs scored. 

Trosky American 2025 took day one by storm beating Stix South 2025 Black 15-0 today in three innings. Trosky started the first inning strong, scoring six runs off the bat and another nine in the second on eight total hits. Keeping their opponents quiet, the tenth ranked prospect in Arizona Aciel Guillen pitched 2.2 innings with two hits and struck out three. Kieran Babai led the way for his team as he went 2-2 with five RBIs, second ranked Arizona third baseman, Izaiah Moraga, went 1-2 with one run scored, and second ranked outfielder in Nevada, Ace Sapp went 2-2 with two runs. Trosky will hope to continue off this outing tomorrow against the Stampede.  



GBG Utah 2025 Navy came in ready as they took down Strike One Baseball 17U 9-0 in five innings. This team scored most of their runs in the last inning with six to close out this game on eight hits. Shutting out Strike One Baseball, pitcher Carson Anderson worked alone, throwing five innings, allowing five hits, no runs, and struck out seven batters. For their offense, Easton Fry went 2-4 to lead his team with one triple and two runs giving him a .667 average through two games. Jayce Christofferson went 2-3 with one run scored and hitting .500 through two games. Lastly, second ranked catcher in Utah, Carter Turley, went 1-3 in the game with two RBIs. Tomorrow, GBG Utah 2025 will move on to their second game against Trosky Arizona 2025.   

TC Baseball 2025 won in shutout fashion against the GBG Navy 2025 7-0 during day one of the 17U WWBA West National Championship. In six innings, TC Baseball kept GBG National down to one hit compared to their eight. Jacob Peyton pitched the majority going 3.2 innings allowing one hit and striking out four batters. He also hit today with two RBI. Along with him, Ricky Rodriguez went 2-3 with one double and one run scored, Armando Saucedo went 1-2 with one double and one run scored, and Derek Bringas collected two runs and a pair of RBI. On the second day, TC Baseball 2025 will face Swarm Red Elite National 2025.  

Trosky Arizona 2026 Regional won today against their first match-up of the event with a 14-0 dominance over GBG Navy American 2025. Trosky closed this game out in four innings with the majority of their runs scored in the first with 10 right out the gate. Devin Morganfield started off the pitching going 2.1 innings with five strikeouts and Zachary Durben closed it out allowing one hit and striking out two batters. Looking at hitting, Durben led the way in the line-up going 2-3 with one triple and one run scored. Brent Sollars went 1-1 with one double and two runs scored, Dylan Clementz went 1-1 with two runs scored, and Tanner Anderson went 1-2 with two runs scored and one RBI. Trosky Arizona 2026 will now go on to face HD 2025 tomorrow.  

Hit Dogs Academy beat Trosky Force 17U 12-0 in their first game of the tournament. The Dogs ended the game in five innings with most of their runs scored in the first two innings with four in the first and seven in the second and their last in the third on a total of eight hits. Keeping Trosky to just one two hits, Israel Gonzales pitched the most, going two innings with one hit and four strikeouts. Dean Snow and Javier Barrios each got an inning of their own with Snow allowing nothing and striking out one and Barrios giving up one hit and striking out two to close it out. Switching sides, the bats were controlled by Kale Thorson, Luke Mann, and Luke Hutton. Thorson went 1-2 with two runs scored, Hutton went 1-2 with one double and one run, and Mann went 3-4 with one double, one triple, and two runs. Tomorrow, the Hit Dogs will face One National 2025 in the second game in this event.  

Admirals 17U National came out strong to start this 17U WWBA West National Championship tournament beating the Stampede 11-1 on day one. In five innings, the Admirals started off the scoring with two in the first, five in the third, and wrapped it up with four in the fourth inning all on ten hits. The Stampede only had one run scored in the fourth and on four hits as both Kaden Roberts and Micah Delarosby held them down on the mound. Roberts went 3.1 with two hits, one run, and five strikeouts. Delarosby 1.2 with two hits and one strikeout. For the line-up, Jake Fletcher went 2-2 with two doubles and one run scored, Jaylen Dawson went 2-2, and Ben Vaughn went 1-1 with one double and three runs scored. Admirals will come into day two on the weekend to face PFA Oxnard.  

Swarm Red Elite National 2025 beat Hook NW 10-3 today during day one of this tournament. Swarm took this one to six innings with a 4-3 score until they brought in their final six runs in the final two innings to mark the end of this game on nine hits. Hook NW scored their three off six hits but couldn’t break out Swarm’s one run lead. The best pitching performance today for the Swarm was from Ryan Jung, he came in as relief and threw three innings of work allowing one hit and struck out five. Zander Bratspis led the way today for the bats as he went 2-3 with one double and three runs scored. Aiden Woolwine went 1-3 with a double and one run scored and Brayden Bullard went 3-4 with seven RBIs in the game. Swarm Red Elite National with their first win will compete against TC Baseball 2025.  

PFA California 2025 took a 9-0 win during day one of the 17U WWBA West National Championship event against Trosky 2026. This team scored a run in each of the five innings of this game with three in the first, one in each of the next three innings, and another set of three runs in the bottom of the fifth all off of 11 hits. Shutting out their competition, Pierson Howe pitched three innings striking out five batters and Rene Ruiz closed out the final two innings giving up one hit and struck out three. Tai Baerga led the offense going 2-3 with one double and two runs scored. San Francisco commit, Jayden Garrison, went 1-2 with one double and one run scored. Tyson Kinnear went 1-2 in the game and Chase Williams went 3-3 with one run scored and four RBIs. PFA California will now face AZBC 2025 on day two.
