Trever Baumler (2024 RHP, Urbandale, IA) was dominant on the mound today, running his fastball up to 95 and showing excellent command over all three of his offerings. He tunnels his changeup well and is able kill the velocity on the pitch, making it extremely difficult on opposing hitters. His breaking ball has sharp, two plane break with tons of depth and late action. He showed power at the plate also, launching a no doubt home run over the left center field fence.
Wilfred Torres Santiago (2024 C, Avon, MA) has a confident approach at the plate, battling in his first at bat that resulted in a line drive base hit late in the count on an off-speed pitch. He does a nice job of utilizing his strength to leverage the ball into the gaps.
Jack Clevidence (2024 RHP, Ankeny, IA) showed nice command over his fastball while running the velocity up to 88 mph. He keeps it on plane at the top of the zone thanks to his 2400 spin rate. At the plate he has quick hands and gets on plane early which helped him record a line drive base hit back up the middle in his first at bat.
Paul Green (2024 OF, Tyrone, GA) has a high release point that allows him to create nice downward angle on his fastball. He has an explosive arm on the mound, working his fastball up to 92 mph.
Karson Grout (2024 3B, Wellman, IA) does a nice job of staying through the baseball at the plate. He lets the ball travel and smashes it where it is pitched. This approach paid off as he launched a line drive deep into the opposite field gap for a stand up RBI double.
Ryley Chapman (2024 3B, Sanford, FL) was on time at the plate today, roping a line drive base hit up the middle in his first at bat. He has a simple swing and stays compact to the baseball, allowing him to handle velocity at the plate. He shows good barrel control as well.
James Love (2024 3B, Joliet, IL) lets the ball travel and covers the entire plate well. In the game he stayed on the ball and sent a hard line drive down the right field line that went all the way to the corner for an easy triple.
Vladimir Breton (2024 3B, Land O Lakes, FL) fires the lower half well and generates easy power at the plate. He is consistently on time and was able to barrel up a hard line drive over the center fielder's head that bounced over the fence for a ground rule double.
Kevari Thunderbird (2024 LHP, Chicago, IL) has tons of movement on all of his pitches and showed the ability to locate pitches to the corners of the zone. His fastball is up to 89 mph with arm side run. He features a low 80's cutter that has late breaking action, keeping it off opposing barrels. He also has a sharp curve with nice downer action and his change up has fading actions through the zone.
Eddie Rogers (2024 RHP, Lincolnton, NC) is a power right-hander that is able to run his fastball up to 92 mph. He has a loose shoulder and drives down the mound well, allowing him to maintain velocity. He pairs his fastball with a sharp breaking ball that has late action through the zone, generating swings and misses.
Brett White (2024 SS, North Liberty, IA) has a smooth swing from the left side of the plate and was able to launch a ball deep to the pull side for a long home run. He has good timing at the plate with a fluid swing, allowing him to consistently make hard contact to all parts of the field.
