12u Select Festival Roster Reveal

The fifth installment of Perfect Game’s Select 12U Baseball Festival will take place on August 11th at the historic East Cobb Complex in Marietta, GA. After an exciting 2024 tournament season, final selections were made after the completion of the Perfect Game Invitational National Championship in Southaven, MS. This year’s rosters are comprised of players from fourteen different states and Puerto Rico. Thirty-six of the best players will descend on Georgia in a celebration of their play throughout the season, bringing to light the amazing platform that Perfect Game has created for today’s youth athletes. Perfect Game’s exciting tournament offerings allow for our staff to get eyes on players near and far, while continuing to bring to focus how incredibly talented these players truly are. The selection process culminated after our 2024 Perfect Game Invitational National Championship held in Southaven, MS.

The year’s West squad is chalk filled with tons of athletes that have competed in Perfect Game’s biggest events this year. The overall athleticism of both squad’s is a testament to the ever-changing development track of today’s athletes but fully expect to see tons of big arms and monster bats within this lineup. Raylen Hunter is an exciting table-setter that brings an advanced feel for hitting, while Tyler Early, Creed Peoples and Jesse Maddox complete the quartet of sweet-swinging lefties on the West Roster. Leyland Henry, Evan Killough and Kingston George bring a ton of thump to the table, as they can leave the yard at any moment. Boston Targac, Jan Carlos Nunez and Ashten Aguailar will look to thwart any-type of running game for the East, as they bring an exciting blend of athleticism and skill to the tools of ignorance behind the plate. Brandon Sweeney and Paxton Scoggin are slick-fielding middle-infielders that are advanced beyond their years. The pitching staff will boast five arms that have touched 80 miles per hour, as Bowen Landry and Christian Choe are names to follow along with some of the aforementioned players included within the pitching corps. The West will look to avenge the absolutely electric 2023 rendition of the games, as the East took home an 18-16 victory in 2023.

Now, onto the East Squad as they look keep bragging rights after last year’s memorable Walk-Off win. Luca Briggs and Landen Davis will be the field generals behind the dish, as both bolster plenty of arm to thwart the running game and command a pitching staff beyond their year’s. Mark Thompson, Jesse Soberal and Noah Osterman are well-rounded hitters that will look to get on-base ahead of the thumpers within the squad. Christopher Cabrera, James Watson and Stephen Pio are some of the big bats within a very deep East Lineup. Raymond Minaya and Mason Miller are a pair of lefties that can do a little bit of everything at the plate. The pitching staff will boast six arms that have touched 80 miles an hour, as they look to minimize the extremely talented West lineup. Calvin Madenspacher, Bryan Johnson Jr and Austin Coleman are a few of the aforementioned high-octane arms that will look to lead this East roster to victory.

As with many of our special events, giving back is at the forefront as we try to use our expansive platform to fundraise for underserved communities. The Select 12U baseball players in the country are joining forces in a unique fundraising competition with proceeds to benefit Elite Development Academy athletes. The Elite Development Academy (EDA) is a transformative initiative addressing economic and racial disparities in baseball. Founded by the Fox Foundation and the HBCU, Dillard University, EDA brings together mentors, nonprofits, MLB scouts, and coaches to enhance athletic skills and provide academic support and mentorship to young players from underserved communities. The program includes robust player onboarding, personalized guidance, and assistance with scholarships and federal grant applications, fostering athletic and academic excellence. From East Teammates to HS Teammates
Both Isaias Torres and Aiden Kearney were teammates on the East during the 14u Select Festival and will be again come high school as both are attending Hagerty in Orlando, Florida.

NYC = New York Catchers
Though they play on three different travel-ball teams, the trio of catchers representing the East in the 2024 14U PG Select Festival all hail from New York. However, their journeys into this event are all very unique and personal to them.

Different Perspective In Year 2 for Vargas
“It’s been a lot of fun,” Vargas said. “It’s just a big friend group and we’re all friends, East and West. It’s the event that I always wanted to be at.”

All Business for Brunson at Select Fest
“I was very motivated to make PG Select Fest ever since I made it last year,” Brunson shares. “The experience here is awesome. You get surrounded by all these good people and all these people that will help you in the near future.”
