Batting Practice Highlights
Hunter Bartha (2028, Beamsville, Ont.) took a solid round of swings to start the day, staying short and direct to drive the ball and work to the middle of the field and backside. He showed an ability to impact with some loud results during his round of swings.
Jakob Groeschel (2028, Springfield, Ohio) found a way to impact the ball with loud swings during BP. He showed off really quick hands and good bat speed to do damage and drive the ball, working pull-side for the loudest results.
Deacon Nelson (2026, Twinsburg, Ohio) worked pull-side and up the middle during his round of BP swings, staying pretty balanced. He got a good barrel jump and was able to drive the ball on a line consistently. The Virginia commit put together a solid round of BP swings.
Danny Palomba (2026, Macomb, Mich.) swung it well during BP, using a simple move to work through it and drive the ball up the middle with a good barrel jump. He drove it with some loud swings and was able to lift the ball consistently throughout the round.
Benjamin Sobeck (2028, Holly, Mich.) handled the barrel well, working backside most of the round. He put together some good swings and was able to work on the barrel and drive it — working on the barrel pretty consistently. He should have good hand speed and put together a good round of swings.
Caden Basar (2027, Gregory, Mich.) had a solid round of BP swings, being able to work up the middle and pull-side well, hammering the ball in the pull-side gap with a good jump off of the barrel. He had good impact and some looseness to the swing that helped him manage a good round of BP swings.
Jake Dellinger (2026, Plainfield, Ind.) swung it well from the right side with good strength off the barrel, showing a feel to be on the barrel and staying short to contact. He showed bat speed that allowed him to show off his strength and physicality. He also lifted the ball well during his round.
Blake Lane (2027, Dryden, Mich.) found a way to show off the left-handed swing well during his round of BP swings. He worked pull-side for the best results and put together some quality swings, driving the ball on an uphill path.
Colton McCaleb (2026, Mason, Mich.) had a smooth left-handed stroke with plenty of bat speed that allowed him to produce some loud swings. He worked all over the field with plenty of quality impacts, doing damage for a real good round of swings during BP.
Niko Strnad (2026, Macomb, Mich.) used a quick move forward with some looseness to the operation. He was short and direct with some feel to lift as well. He worked backside in the air early on in the round with a solid round of BP swings overall.
Seth Hittleman (2027, Birmingham, Mich.) had a whippy stroke with some looseness to the operation. He worked to the middle of the field and pull-side for his best results. He can lift and he showed some juice as well throughout the round of swings.
Tanner Ludwig (2026, New Baltimore, Mich.) swung it from the left side with a loose stroke and some lift. He had some good impact and showed good bat-to-ball with easy loft & some lift to drive the ball and put together a quality round of swings.
Kanaan Taylor (2026, Brownstown, Mich.) is a physical and strong left-hander who found ways to impact it and work pull-side. He used the whole field and showed some strength off the barrel and good juice to produce some hard-hit balls throughout his round of BP swings.
Mason Piazza (2028, Saline, Mich.) showed good hand speed during his round of BP swings, with good strength out in front to drive the ball and work the entire field. He was short and direct to it, with barrel speed and a physical swing that helped him produce a quality round of BP swings.
Trae Foster (2028, Ypsilanti, Mich.) showed some juice during his round of BP with some feel to impact in the air pull-side. His best contact came working pull-side and up-the-middle during the round of BP swings.
Lukas Kovach (2028, Plymouth, Mich.) handled the bat well as a left-handed hitter with an inward move. He had some jump off of it with good strength to do damage and show good barrel speed. There was obvious strength that translated to some loud impacts.
Keegan Malley (2026, Freeland, Mich.) had a quality round of BP swings, using the entire field, with his best contact coming back up the middle. He was able to find the barrel often and impact it with a feel to lift and turn hard through it.
Jacob Metzger (2027, Holt, Mich.) swung it well from the right side of the plate, taking the hands directly to it with good speed through the zone. He created a good barrel whip and was able to show juice throughout his round of BP swings.
