3-Orange Sunday Game Highlights

5/28/2022

Colin McCormick (2023 SS, Kenilworth, IL) showed some two-way potential on the mound yesterday, and he flashed his offensive upside today. The right-handed hitter crushed a deep flyball to the warning track in left-center field and motored around the bases for a triple.

Ty Mikkelsen (2024 SS, Grimes, IA) also flashed some intriguing two-way potential today. He tossed a dominant two innings on the mound, striking out three opposing batters and allowing just one hit. He ran his fastball up to 83 mph and featured a true, four-pitch mix with notable movement to each. He collected a sharply-hit single to left field as well.

Brek Sloan (2024 C, Grain Valley, MO) made quick work of the opposing lineup, tossing two no-hit innings and striking out five or the seven batters he faced. His fastball topped out at 81 mph and he missed plenty of bats with his curveball. At the plate, he collected a hustle double after hitting a hard line drive over the shortstop's head.

Jonathan Torres (2024 2B, Des Plaines, IL) was seeing the ball extremely well today, as he collected three hits in total. He started off with two line drive singles, and finished with a deep flyball to the left-center field gap for a triple. He found the barrel consistently and proved to have some pop in his bat.

Justin Vera-Medina (2024 3B, Chicago, IL) made the loudest contact of the day, dropping the bat head one for a no-doubt home run to left-field. The primary third baseman has a strong and physical 6-foot, 200-pound frame with big power potential.

Hiram Lewis (2025 RHP, Brentwood, TN) is a young arm with intriguing upside. He stands at an uber-projectable 6-foot-4, 175-pounds, and he proved to have swing and miss potential today, as he struck out eight opposing batters in his three innings and allowed just one hit. He ran his fastball up to 84 mph and featured an impressive breaking ball with good depth and two-plane shape.

2-Navy Sunday Game Highlights

5/28/2022

JD Dohrmann (2025 C, Wildwood, MO) flashed some two-way potential in this one, running his fastball up to 84 mph from the right side. He was dominant for his two innings, striking out three opposing batters and not allowing a single hit. He featured a hammer curveball that generated swing and miss. He also added a sharply-hit line drive single at the plate.

Michael Good (2024 SS, Parkville, MO) jumped all over a first pitch fastball, smoking one into the left-center field gap for a standup triple. The primary shortstop generates good bat speed and has some whip to the barrel as it comes through the zone.

Jackson McDanel (2024 SS, Moravia, IA) produced loud contact in his first game of the day, roping a low line drive right over the shortstop's head for a triple. The ball just kept carrying into the left-center field gap, and he was able to show off his speed on the base paths. The right-handed hitter has quick hands with a short and direct bat path.

Eric O'Brien (2022 OF, Arnold, MO) made a heck of a play in left field during the first game of the day. He tracked down a deep fly ball to the warning track and making a fantastic over-the-shoulder catch. He would also get the job done with the bat, as he jumped all over a first pitch fastball for a double in the right-center field gap.

Ethan Bristol (2023 OF, South Lyon, MI) was seeing the ball extremely well in his first game of the day, as he finished a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs. He collected two singles up the middle and a clean inside the park home run. The primary outfielder is a strong and athletic prospect with a top of the order profile, thanks to his speed and hit tools.

1-Gray Sunday Game Highlights

5/28/2022

Adrian Ayala Castellano (2023 SS, Omaha, NE) produced some solid contact on the day for his squad, going 1-for-3 with a single and a run scored. He squared up a high fly ball to left field that would have went for extra-bases, but the left-fielder made a nice play to record the out. He also showed some speed and intelligence on the base paths, as he stole home to generate a run.

Sam Decker (2023 RHP, Olathe, KS) put together a quality start for the Gray Team, going three innings and striking out five opposing batters. The right-hander ran his fastball up to 76 mph with significant arm side run/sink from a side arm slot. His arm slot proved to be deceptive, as he missed barrels and did a good job of mixing speeds and movement.

Carson McCaleb (2023 C, Lake St Louis, MO) has looked good behind the dish, throwing out multiple runners and showing advanced arm strength. The switch-hitter provides some upside offensively as well, and he showed good pop from the left side today, collecting a double in the opposite field gap.

Gage Maddox (2024 OF, Kansas City, MO) has impressed all weekend, and he capped it off today with a sharply-hit line drive to the opposite field gap for a standup triple. Has shown notable power to the opposite field during the games, and he would finish the day 2-for-3 with a double and a triple. He also hopped on the mound for two innings, running his fastball up to 81 mph and showing two distinct breaking balls.
