PG Iowa Select Champ. Scout Notes

Zander Murray (2026, Cedar Rapids, Iowa) had himself a day on the mound tossing a complete game giving up only three hits while racking up nine strikeouts to add to his line. Murray is a long 6-foot, 160-pound right-handed pitcher with a clean, athletic, over-the-top delivery. Murray has a high leg kick and gets good use out of his long levers, creating a ton of torque from his legs. Gets downhill well, but throws slightly across his body. Murray was sitting 79-82 all weekend, touching 82 multiple times. Murray also featured a back door wipe-out slider against lefties he used for strikeouts collecting a ton of swings and misses. Murray shows lots of potential on the mound to grow and work on what he has going on for himself already.
