2008 Top Prospects

Robbie Powell  RHP - 2008 - Punta Gorda, FL
Uncommitted

An athletic RHP, Robbie has an aggressive pitching style and tops out at 89 with his fastball. Robbie gets good life on his fastball from a low ¾ arm slot and has a good idea of how to change speeds.

Carlos Lopez  SS - 2008 - Boynton Beach, FL
Wake Forest

Carlos is a player that does everything well and could project as a highest-level college prospect at three different positions. He has big offensive tools and could be an infielder, catcher or closer at the next level.

Eddie Murray  RHP - 2008 - North Fort Myers, FL
Uncommitted

The most projectable player at the event, Eddie tops at 86 coming from a 6’7” frame. He gets a good downhill plane on his ball with an easy delivery and his velocity projects very well.

Manny Fernandez  RHP - 2008 - Homestead, FL
Army

Fernandez has a power pitcher approach with a strong arm and body and a fastball that tops out at 88. He pounds the strike zone with a fastball that has good armside run and he has a good feel for his off-speed pitches.

Jake Guengerich  RHP - 2008 - Sarasota, FL
Florida Southern

Guengerich is a good-looking athlete that could project at a number of different positions. He has solid tools in the infield and outfield, but also touched 85 on the mound after not pitching in several years.

TJ Kerins  RHP - 2008 - Marietta, GA
Navy

Kerins is a polished RHP that touched 87 with his fastball. He has a good feel for how to pitch and will play in the spotlight once again for the defending state champion in Georgia.

Andre Vazquez  3B - 2008 - Miami Lakes, FL
Florida International

Vazquez has the tools to be a highest-level college prospect in the infield or on the mound. At the plate Andre shows a lot of promise, while he also touches 87 on the mound.

Cuyler Esposito  MIF - 2008 - Marietta, GA
Villanova

Esposito might have been the smoothest player at the event with very sound swing mechanics and solid defensive actions. He plays for one of the top high school in Georgia and should be able to showcase his talent well this coming spring.

Robert Evers  RHP - 2008 - Roswell, GA
Uncommitted

Evers is a projectable outfielder that shows two plus tools in his speed (6.88) and arm strength. (88) Once he fills into his frame, Evers has the offensive tools to be a very solid right-fielder.

Adrian Schenk  OF - 2008 - Wheat Ridge, CO
Uncommitted

Adrian has the tools to be a solid corner outfield at the next level with a plus speed (6.84) and arm strength. (85) He is a good all-arounnd athletic ability that should attract the attention of many high-level college programs.

Will Haga  RHP - 2008 - Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
Uncommitted

Will has a projectable build at 6’4” and topped out at 85 with his fastball. His arm works well and it is easy to see him adding a good amount of velocity in the future.

2009 Top Prospects

Isaac Ballou  OF - 2009 - Smithfield, VA
Marshall

The 2009 outfielder has 5-tool potential in any outfield position and could become one of the top prospects in his class. His speed and bat stick out the most right now, but his upside is through the roof.

Tony Tschosik  RHP - 2009 - Palm Beach Gardens, FL
Cornell

The 2009 RHP projects big as he is already topping out at 87 with an easy arm action and a very sharp curveball. Tony plays for one of the top high school teams in the state and should attract the attention of many highest-level college programs.

David Holmberg  LHP - 2009 - Port Charlotte, FL
Florida

The top LHP at the event, Holmberg is a 2009 grad that has a very advanced feel for pitching and should add a good amount of velocity in the future. His fastball tops at 84 and he shows good overall polish on the mound.

Grant Porter  RHP - 2009 - Lakeland, FL
State College of Florida

A 2009 grad, Porter has big offensive upside with big-time bat speed and power potential. He is a solid athlete that should project fairly well at third base.
